Meet Cali Corgi – St Mary’s New Mascot!

Personality:
- Clearly loyal, always comes to the aid of his friends.
- Fascinated by hats, but always struggles to find one to fit.
- Is an aspiring artist (hence having one white paw from all the painting)
Enjoys:
- Joining in with the bell ringing, jumping up and hanging from the rope like it is a string of sausages
- Sliding around the church on four seashells while wearing his Roman helmet (safety first!)
- Singing along with the choir.
Backstory:
Caleb Corgi (Cali to his friends) is much older than he looks. He has been friends with many people throughout the years, going on an exciting journey with Toby when all the men wore long robes. Cali liked the robes because he could get all cosy on them when there was a break on the journey. Cali was fascinated by Raphael’s wings. Maybe he would have his own pair one day.
Cali remembers one night many years ago where things were falling from the sky, things that he did not like at all. He was staying with a family near the church, helping to look after their children and teaching them how to paint. One of the things fell from the sky and Cali barked as loud as he could to warn everyone to get away. The thing made a loud noise, louder than the bells in the church. The family said Cali had saved them from a bomb which had exploded near their home!
After all the excitement and once the children had learnt all that Cali could teach them, he moved to the church where he could sing along with the choir and help teach more children how to paint.
St Mary’s new mascot was created in 2021 by local Carshalton Artist, Helena Vaughan
